Save the Children Wessex Walks, 15 May 2005

Today we again danced to entertain walkers arriving at Winchester College at the end of a series of sponsored walks in aid of Save the Children. But before the dancing, I decided I should walk there myself, after all the Itchen Valley is beautiful in the sunshine

Not to mention the trees bursting into life

Closer to Winchester, there were several families of ducks

A pair of swans with newly-hatched cygnets

We know where one came from...

A moorhen watching out while its chick hid in the reeds

Then past the cathedral

To New Hall of Winchester College, a wonderful setting to dance

And Minden Rose are soon in action

The band do their stuff (minus a tiger, whose equipment failed to arrive)

The cloggies did a couple of spots

It's good to have Jackie dancing again

Despite dancing on a diagonal, the lines were straight

Even here there are ducklings - dashing up and down the stream

The second spot started with the Wain

Anstey Mill

The Portsmouth Street Dance

Striving for that perfect shot

Wishford

Alton Morris (yes, a rare outing!)

And finally the Rose
